In the Saturday, Oct. 25, Powerball drawing, five tickets matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball. One of these tickets was Power Played, increasing the $10,000 prize to $20,000 since the Power Play multiplier was two. This ticket was sold at Petro Express #3983 on West Franklin Street in Monroe. The other four tickets that matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball were not Power Played and are worth $10,000 each. These tickets were sold at CJ's Pitt Stop on North Main Street in Marion, Hasty Mart #42 on South Third Street in Smithfield, J & J Quick Stop on Archie Whitesides Road in Gastonia, and Cubbard Express #9 on Springs Road in Hickory. A total of 38,183 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Saturday, Oct. 25 Powerball drawing, ranging from $20,000 down to $3 for a total payout in prizes worth $287,160. No one matched all five white balls plus the Powerball to win the jackpot, so the jackpot for the Wednesday, Oct. 29, Powerball drawing is an estimated $59 million. The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has paid out more than $4.7 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Thursday, Oct. 23. Also since Thursday, “Carolina Cash 5” players have won more than $423,000 and “Carolina Pick 3” players have won more than $840,000 in prizes.
