Coons bought his winning Powerball ticket from Food Lion on North Main Street in Mooresville. His ticket matched all five white balls drawn and was Power Played, multiplying the $200,000 prize to $400,000 since the Power Play number for the Nov. 5 drawing was two. Coons says he plans to invest some of the winnings, as well as use some of it to travel. Chad Allison of Raleigh bought a Powerball ticket for the Sept. 13 drawing and also checked online for the winning numbers. When he saw that his ticket matched all five white balls drawn, he says he didn’t know at first how much he’d won. Then he says he checked the matrix and was elated to see that his ticket worth $200,000. Allison bought his winning ticket at Kroger on Six Forks Road in Raleigh. He claimed his prize earlier this week and says the money will come in handy for his children’s education as well as home improvements. For Charles Whitaker Jr. of Nashville, “Carolina Cash 5” was his lucky game. His ticket for the Nov. 8 “Carolina Cash 5” drawing matched all five numbers drawn to win the top prize of $119,556. Whitaker bought his winning ticket at Fuel Doc on South Barnes Street in Nashville. He says a trip to Hawaii is in his future thanks to his winnings. In last night’s Powerball drawing, one ticket matched all five white balls drawn and is worth $200,000! This ticket was sold at the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) Regional Claim Center in Greensboro. In addition, two tickets matched four out of five white balls plus the Powerball and are worth $20,000 each since each was Power Played. The Power Play number for last night’s drawing was two, which increased the $10,000 prize to $20,000. These tickets were sold at Wilco on North Main Street in Kenansville and Kangaroo Express on Forest Hills Road in Wilson. A total of 31,984 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Wednesday, Nov. 12 Powerball drawing, ranging from $200,000 down to $3 for a total payout in prizes worth $433,620. No one matched all five white balls plus the Powerball to win the jackpot, so the jackpot for the Saturday, Nov. 15, Powerball drawing is an estimated $42 million.
