-Granville County Man Wins $100,000 Playing "The Price Is Right"-
RALEIGH - Wilma Autrey of Gastonia is making special plans for the $200,000 she won playing Powerball. She told lottery officials she wants to take her husband on a “nice vacation” to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary.

Although she usually likes to chat, Autrey said she was numb all over and could hardly talk after finding out she won. She plans to share some of the winnings with her family. Autrey purchased her ticket, which is worth approximately $136,000 after state and federal withholdings, from S&D Food Mart in Gastonia.

For Delinda Bowles of Thomasville it took a while for the reality to sink in that she won $100,000 playing the “Monopoly” instant scratch-off game. Bowles told lottery officials that she double-checked her ticket several times because she „thought the zeros might disappear? before she could make the trip to Raleigh to claim her prize, which totaled $68,001 after taxes. Bowles purchased her ticket at the Midway Mobil Mart on National Highway.

Another big winner, James Edmonds of Oxford, also won $100,000 by playing a different scratch-off game. He had a winning ticket for “The Price is Right” and said he?s considering buying a new car with the $68,001 take-home total. He bought his tickets at the TM Food Mart #1 on Linden Avenue.

A total of 32,514 North Carolina Powerball players won prizes in the Saturday, Feb. 20 drawing ranging from $2 to $200 for a total payout in prizes worth $185,492. Because no tickets matched all five white balls and the Powerball, the jackpot for the Wednesday Feb. 24 drawing is an estimated $76 million.

A total of 10,789 North Carolina Mega Millions players won prizes in the Friday, Feb. 19 drawing ranging from $2 to $600 for a total payout in prizes worth $80,687. Because no tickets matched all five white balls and the Mega Ball, the jackpot for the Tuesday Feb. 23 drawing is an estimated $83 million.

The North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) has paid out over $8.03 million total in instant scratch-off ticket prizes since Thursday, Feb. 18. Also since Thursday, “Carolina Pick 3” players have won over $1.8 million, “Carolina Pick 4” players have won more than $241,000 and 12 tickets won the top prize of $2,500. “Carolina Cash 5” players have won over $131,200.
