Many of you may know a graduate who is getting ready to turn the tassel and start the next chapter of their lives.
It is an exciting time for everyone— for graduates and their families— and the Education Lottery is happy to be part of the celebration, helping make dreams of higher education come true for thousands of North Carolinians each year.
For one of those recent graduates, Claude Oros, receiving an Education Lottery Scholarship helped him walk across the stage at Wake Technical Community College— with a degree in one hand, a dream in the other hand, and a big smile on his face.
“One day I plan on operating a Chick-fil-A franchise,” said Oros. “But I knew without an education it just wouldn’t be feasible.”
Oros said that he’s happy to have received the Education Lottery Scholarship because it helped cut down on the cost of college, allowing him to focus on his studies.
“Times can be tough,” said Oros. “It’s really difficult to hold down a full-time job while being a full-time student. Without the N.C. Education Lottery scholarship, focusing on my education and dreams in life without having to worry about money honestly wouldn’t have been possible!”
