RALEIGH – Keith McClintock, who owns Pine State Electric and Lighting Center in Durham, plans to pay bills, purchase a car for his son and go on a vacation with the $150,000 prize he won playing Aces High.

“I won $5 on another ticket, so I went back into the store and bought an Aces High ticket,” McClintock said. “I was just in shock. I’m tickled to death with this prize.”

McClintock received a payment of $102,001, after taxes were withheld. He purchased the winning ticket at Tommy’s Mini-Mart on Cole Mill Road in Durham.

McClintock was the first player to claim the top prize in the Aces High game. As of Monday afternoon, the game has four top prizes remaining to be claimed.

Since the lottery began through June 30, 2011, Durham County education programs received more than $4 million in lottery funds. By law, those funds pay for teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, need-based college scholarships and prekindergarten programs.
