RALEIGH – Sally Priest, a resident of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, said that she will use the $125,000 top prize she won playing $125,000 Casino Cash to help her family.

The ticket was purchased at the Light House Food Mart on Buck Jones Road in Raleigh on Saturday. Priest’s job as a fixture contractor brought her to North Carolina this past weekend. After spending the day installing fixtures in a local pet store, she scratched off her prize while sitting in her hotel room with her brother.

“I needed someone to pinch me,” Priest said. “We travel for a living and play lottery all the time, but this is the first time I’ve ever hit it big. It’s sinking in a little bit, but it’s still unbelievable.“

Priest received $85,001 after state and federal taxes were withheld. As of Monday morning, no more top prizes remain in the $125,000 Casino Cash game.

Since the lottery began through June 30, 2011, Wake County education programs received more than $145.8 million in lottery funds. By law, those funds pay for teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.

To date, the N.C. Education Lottery has raised more than $2.35 billion for these initiatives statewide.
