Steve Wall of Raleigh came forward Friday to collect a $114,634 jackpot from the Sept. 29 Carolina Cash 5 drawing. After taxes were withheld, Wall received a prize of $77,952.

Wall purchased his lucky ticket, which beat odds of 1 in 575,757, from the Great Stops on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh.

Drawings for Carolina Cash 5 are held at 11:22 p.m. each night. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and rolls to a larger amount unless one or more tickets match all five numbers drawn. An $855,949 jackpot was won Thursday night by a Jacksonville woman so the Friday, Oct. 11 jackpot is $50,000.

Ticket sales for games such as Carolina Cash 5 have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $2.9 billion for education programs statewide.
