RALEIGH – Donald Hildebran of Hickory is the second player to win the top prize playing the lottery’s $200,000 Extreme Cash game. He plans to use the winnings to take a beach vacation and save for the future.

As of Wednesday afternoon, two top prizes of $200,000 remain to be claimed in the game. Hildebran purchased his winning ticket, worth $136,001 after taxes were withheld, at the Corner Food Mart on Old N.C. 10 in Hickory.

Since the lottery began through June 30, 2012, Catawba County education programs received more than $35.3 million in lottery funds. By law, those funds pay for teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, and college scholarships and financial aid based on need.

To date, the N.C. Education Lottery has raised more than $2.8 billion for these initiatives statewide.
