RALEIGH –Abdelrahman Kirdasi, a resident of Indian Trail, is the latest player to win $100,000 playing the $4,000,000 Gold Bullion game.

“I’m feeling very happy,” Kirdasi said as he collected his winnings on Friday. “This helps me work out a lot of things. I can’t wait to get to the bank.”

Kirdasi received a check for $68,006 after state and federal taxes were withheld. He bought the lucky ticket at the Kangaroo Express on U.S. 74 West in Indian Trail.

As of Friday afternoon, the game has one $4,000,000 prize, four $1,000,000 prizes and three $100,000 prizes remaining to be claimed.

Along with draw games, sales of instant tickets make it possible for the N.C. Education Lottery to raise money for education programs in all 100 counties.

Since the lottery began through June 30, 2012, Union County education programs received more than $55.3 million in lottery funds. By law, those funds pay for teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, college scholarships and financial aid based on need, and digital learning initiatives.

The N.C. Education Lottery has raised more than $2.9 billion for these initiatives statewide.
