The N.C. Education Lottery will kick off the new MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery game with an exclusive, one-time drawing for $1 million this Friday for those who buy a ticket the first week in North Carolina.

The Education Lottery is the only one of the 23 U.S. lotteries involved in the new game that is offering the special drawing. The North Carolina $1 million prize will be in addition to any other prizes won during the new multi-state game’s first drawing. The one-time drawing will be held Friday evening in conjunction with the first MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB lottery drawing to guarantee that someone who buys a ticket in North Carolina will win $1 million in the first drawing.

“The special feature of the new multi-state game is how it is designed to make more and more millionaires rather than big jackpots,” said Alice Garland, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Here in North Carolina, we added our own exclusive $1 million winner so that we can start making more millionaires the first night.”

The chance to win the $1 million is a bonus to those who buy a $5 MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB ticket this week. Tickets can be purchased until 10:15 p.m. Friday night. The odds for winning the $1 million prize will depend on how many tickets are purchased.

To win the $1 million prize, match the MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB Draw Number on the ticket with the number drawn during the special drawing. The winning number for the $1 million will be announced at 11:22 p.m. just before the lottery holds its nightly drawings. The drawing will be broadcast on the lottery’s five draw stations. They are: WRAL in the Triangle, WITN in Eastern North Carolina, WXLV in the Triad, WAXN in Charlotte, and WLOS in Asheville.

Other ways to get the winning number will be on the NCEL’s website at http://www.nc-educationlottery.org/, by visiting lottery retail locations statewide, or by calling Customer Service at (877) 962-7529.
