RALEIGH – Carmen O’Quinn of Seven Springs is the latest player to claim a $100,000 prize in the lottery’s Diamond 7’s game.

After state and federal taxes were withheld, O’Quinn received $69,201. She purchased the lucky ticket at the La Tiendita Carmen’s Grocery on Outlaw Bridge Road in Albertson. One more $100,000 top prize remains to be claimed in the Diamond 7’s game.

As of December 2013, the lottery has raised more than $3.19 billion to support education programs. Lottery dollars support teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction and repair projects, prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, need-based college scholarships and financial aid and digital learning initiatives.
