RALEIGH – Patrick Santiago of Fayetteville is the latest player to win $1 million playing the $4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular game. He purchased his lucky $20 ticket at the Reilly Road BP Amoco on North Reilly Road in Fayetteville.

Winners of $1 million in the game have the option of claiming it as a 20-year annuity in $50,000 payments or a one-time lump sum of $600,000.

Santiago chose the cash payment. After state and federal taxes were collected, he received a check for $415,206.

The $4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular game went on sale on March 4. As of Thursday afternoon, four $4 million prizes and eight $1 million prizes remain to be claimed in the game.

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.2 billion for education programs statewide. Net proceeds are used for prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction and need-based college scholarships and financial aid and digital learning.
