Someone who played Mega Millions in Charlotte won $1 million last night. A lucky ticket sold at the Fuel Mart on West Boulevard in Charlotte matched all five white balls in the drawing. Those numbers are: 10-23-68-74-75.

Whoever bought the ticket beat odds of 1 in 18.4 million to win the $1 million prize, which must be claimed at lottery headquarters in Raleigh within 180 days from the date of the drawing.

The ticket was just one gold Mega Ball away from winning the jackpot. Because no ticket nationwide matched all six numbers, the jackpot has grown to a $30 million annuity for Friday’s drawing. If claimed as a one-time cash payment, the jackpot would be $16.6 million.

Two North Carolina players have won Mega Millions jackpots since the game started here in 2010.

Mega Millions is played in 43 states and the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held at approximately 10:59 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday each week.
