RALEIGH – Sarah Wilson of Franklin is the latest player to win $100,000 playing the Millionaire 7’s game. She purchased the lucky $10 ticket at the N&N Express Mart on East Main Street in Franklin.

“I’m really excited,” Wilson said of her big win. “I’m actually still in shock.”

After state and federal taxes were withheld, Wilson received a check for $69,203. As of Wednesday morning, eight $1 million top prizes and six $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed in the game.

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.3 billion for the state. Net proceeds are used for prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, digital learning initiatives, need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
