RALEIGH – Larry Perry of Garner matched all five numbers in Thursday’s Carolina Cash 5 drawing and won the $298,059 jackpot.

Perry purchased the lucky Quick Pick ticket, which beat odds of 1 in 575,757, at the Kroger on Timber Drive in Garner. After state and federal taxes were withheld, he received a check for $206,257.

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.3 billion for the state. Net proceeds are used for prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, digital learning initiatives, need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
