Yong Bin Liu, a resident of Lumberton, is the most recent lottery player to win $100,000 playing the Millionaire 7's instant game.

Liu purchased his lucky $10 ticket at the Xpress Depot on Fayetteville Road in Lumberton. After required state and federal withholdings, he received a check for $69,203.

Millionaire 7's started April 1. With Liu's win, six prizes of $100,000, eight top prizes of $1 million – and many other prizes – remain to be claimed.

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.3 billion for the state. Net proceeds are used for prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, digital learning initiatives, need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
