RALEIGH – Juvenal Diaz, a resident of Advance, is the second player to win $200,000 playing the new Break the Bank game. He purchased his lucky $5 ticket, worth $138,401 after taxes, at the 4 Brothers on N.C. 801 in Advance.

Break The Bank’s “Back Scratch” feature lets players try their luck on the front and back of the ticket for more chances to win.

Jarred Earles of Eden became the first $200,000 winner in the game last week. After Diaz’ win, four more top prizes – and many other prizes – remain to be claimed.

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.4 billion for the state. North Carolina Education Lottery net proceeds will be used this year to help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
