RALEIGH – Amber Shipley of Gold Hill is the fourth player to win $100,000 playing the Millionaire 7’s game.

She purchased the lucky $10 ticket at the Richfield Food Mart on N.C. 49 North in Richfield. After state and federal taxes were withheld, she received a check for $69,253.

The Millionaire 7’s game went on sale on Apr. 1, 2014. As of Tuesday morning, five $1 million top prizes and four $100,000 prizes to be claimed in the game.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion for the state last year. North Carolina Education Lottery net proceeds will be used this year to help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
