RALEIGH – Fayetteville resident Michael Jones is one of two players that matched all five numbers in Wednesday’s Cash 5 drawing to win half of the $937,346 jackpot.

“Honestly, I still don’t believe it,” said Jones of his $468,673 win. “This feels amazing.”

Jones purchased the lucky $1 ticket at the Wilco on North Reilly Road in Fayetteville. After taxes were withheld, he received a check for $324,556.

The second winning ticket from the Sept. 30 drawing, which has not yet been claimed, was sold at Mountain Energy on Hendersonville Road in Arden.

The winning numbers were: 4-12-23-26-36. Players with winning tickets have 180 days to claim prizes. Tonight’s Cash 5 jackpot is $70,000. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 575,757.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year. For details on how $133 million in lottery funds have made a difference in Cumberland County, click on the “Where the Money Goes” tab on the lottery’s website.
