RALEIGH – Vivian Moore of Durham won $1 million playing the $200 Million Blowout game. She said she plans to use a portion of her winnings to pay bills, share with her family and take a nice vacation.

“I scratched off the ticket while I was in the grocery store,” said Moore. “I saw that dollar sign and I was stunned. This feels unbelievable.”

Moore purchased the lucky $20 ticket at the Food Lion on Fayetteville Street in Durham. A $1 million prize in the game can be claimed in 20 annuity payments of $50,000 or a one-time payment of $600,000. Moore chose the lump sum, worth $415,506 after required withholdings.

As of Tuesday morning, two $4 million top prizes and eight $1 million prizes remain to be claimed in the game.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year. For details on how $71 million in lottery funds have made a difference in Durham County, click on the “Where the Money Goes” tab on the lottery’s website.
