A $225,696 Cash 5 jackpot means that Cameron Hussey of Kinston will be getting a Toyota minivan to support his cleaning service.

Hussey, who said he plays the $1 game daily, beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to win the Oct. 26 jackpot. He said he was at home with his uncle when he saw that one of his Quick Pick tickets had matched all five numbers.

“It was about time,” Hussey said Wednesday. “I was happy.”

After federal and state tax withholdings, Hussey received $156,295. He purchased his lucky ticket at the Food Lion on N.C. 11 South in Pink Hill.

Wednesday’s Cash 5 jackpot is $120,000.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year. For details on how $22 million in lottery funds have made a difference in Lenoir County, click on the “Where the Money Goes” tab on the lottery’s website.
