RALEIGH – Penelope Morgan of Raleigh was the only player whose ticket matched all five numbers in Wednesday's Carolina Cash 5 drawing, winning her the $159,148 jackpot.

She purchased the lucky ticket, worth $110,210 after required state and federal withholdings, at the Harris Teeter on Strickland Road in Raleigh.

Carolina Cash 5 drawings are held nightly at 11:22 p.m. Tickets cost $1 each and jackpots start at $50,000. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 575,757.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year. For details on how $331 million in lottery funds have made a difference in Wake County, click on the “Where the Money Goes” tab on the lottery’s website.
