Reginald Miller of Raleigh is the most recent player to scratch off the top prize of $4 million in the $4,000,000 Multiplier Spectacular game.

“It’s life-changing, I’m sure,” Miller said. “It’s basically going to fund my retirement.”

A $4 million prize in the game can be claimed in 20 annuity payments of $200,000 or a one-time payment of $2.4 million. Miller chose the lump sum, worth $1.6 million after required state and federal withholdings. He purchased the winning ticket at the JC Mart on Louisburg Road in Raleigh.

Miller beat odds of 1 in 2.5 million to win the top prize. As of Friday morning, two more $4 million prizes, five $1 million prizes and many other prizes remain to be claimed in the game.

Another lucky ticket sold in Raleigh won $1 million in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing but has yet to be claimed. It was sold at the Quality Mart on Beryl Road.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion for the state last year. For details on how lottery funds have made a difference for specific education programs across North Carolina and in Wake County, click on the “Where the Money Goes” tab on the lottery’s website.
