RALEIGH – Richard Wyant of Marshall is the latest player to scratch off $750,000 playing the Jumbo Bucks instant game.

Wyant purchased his lucky $10 ticket at BJ’s Food Mart on Michigan Avenue in Asheville. After required state and federal withholdings, he received a check for $519,378.

Jumbo Bucks is part of the “Bucks” family of instant games that are always in stores. With Wyant’s win, five top prizes currently remain to be claimed.

Sales of instant games helped the lottery raise more than half a billion for education last year. Net proceeds this year will help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
