RALEIGH – Courtney Daye and Christopher Trice of Raleigh plan to use the $100,000 prize they won playing the Millionaire 7’s game to pay bills and share with their families. They purchased the lucky $10 ticket at the Fast Pik Food Mart on Old Garner Road in Raleigh.

After state and federal taxes were withheld, they each received a check for $34,626.

The Millionaire 7’s game went on sale on April 1, 2014. As of Tuesday afternoon, four $1 million top prizes and three $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed in the game.

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.6 billion for the state. Net proceeds will be used this year to help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, for school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
