RALEIGH – Amador Fuentes Trejo stopped Sunday at the Fuel Mart South on South Boulevard in Charlotte with an extra $5 in his pocket. He used it to buy an Emerald 7’s ticket that turned out to be worth $150,000.

Trejo, a landscaper who has lived in Charlotte for 13 years, said that he would use a portion of his $96,375 in prize money to start his own landscaping business. He also planned to use his winnings to help his family in Mexico and donate to his church.

One top prize of $150,000, three prizes of $25,000 and many other prizes remain to be claimed in the Emerald 7's game.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state this year. For details on how $297 million in lottery funds have made a difference in Mecklenburg County, click on the “Where the Money Goes” tab on the lottery’s website.
