Raleigh – Juliane Bump of Cullowhee plans to use the $150,000 she won playing the Trucks & Bucks game to help pay for her grandchildren’s education.

Bump is the third and final player to win the game’s top prize. She purchased the lucky $5 ticket at Pisgah Valley Market on Pisgah Highway in Candler. After state and federal withholdings, she received a check for $103,876.

“I still feel like I’m dreaming,” said Bump. “I’m very happy.”

Players can enter their Trucks & Bucks instant scratch-off tickets into second-chance drawings for a chance to win their choice of a 2015 truck. Winners have a choice between a Chevrolet® Silverado™ 1500 LT Z71, Ford F-150 Lariat Super Crew or Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab. Each truck has an approximate value of $52,000. The third and final drawing will occur on Sept. 2 with an entry deadline of Aug. 31. Tickets can be entered on the lottery’s Lucke-Zone website.

Ticket sales made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year. North Carolina Education Lottery net proceeds were used last year to help pay salaries of teachers and teacher assistants, for pre-kindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, school construction and repair, and need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
