RALEIGH – Victor Mendez of Lexington had one of two lucky tickets that split Tuesday's $470,762 Carolina Cash 5 jackpot, winning $235,381.

He purchased his lucky ticket, worth $163,001 after required state and federal withholdings, at the Grab & Go on South Main Street in Lexington.

The other half of the jackpot was won by a Pender County man. Lindell Clark of Burgaw bought his winning ticket at the Piggly Wiggly on Norwood Street in Wallace.

Each ticket beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to match all five numbers. Carolina Cash 5 drawings are held nightly with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until the jackpot is won. The jackpot for Friday’s drawing is $111,000,
