A “Mega” win for Mack Lumpkin of Fayetteville came as he won $100,000 playing Mega Bucks.
Lumpkin claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $69,251.

Lumpkin bought the $5 winning ticket at the Murphy Express on Lillington Highway in Spring Lake.

Ticket sales from games like Mega Bucks made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year.
