Jasmine Eaves of Lawndale is taking her kids on a dream trip to Disney after winning the $1 million top 50X The Cash prize.

“I’ve always dreamed of doing this for my kids,” Eaves said.

When she scratched the ticket, she couldn’t believe her good luck. “I took the ticket to four different stores to make them scan it just to be sure,” Eaves said.

Reality set in as she claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. She had the choice of taking a $1 million annuity that has 20 payments of $50,000 a year or a lump sum of $600,000. Eaves chose the lump sum, and after federal and state tax withholdings, she received $414,777.

Eaves bought the $10 ticket at Kebo’s Archery Inc. on Polkville Road in Shelby.
50X The Cash launched in February with six top prizes of $1 million. Four top prizes remain.

Ticket sales from games like 50X The Cash made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year.
