RALEIGH – Someone who played Mega Millions in Cabarrus County won $1 million Friday night. A lucky ticket purchased at the SM Mart on Poplar Tent Road in Concord near Charlotte matched all five white balls to win the seven-figure prize.

The winning numbers were 11-14-54-57-63 for the white balls and 11 for the gold Mega Ball.

The ticket, which beat odds of 1 in 18.4 million, was the Mega Ball away from winning the jackpot. Besides the jackpot, there are eight other ways to win a prize playing the game. Players who add the $1 Megaplier feature can multiply their non-jackpot winnings.

Because there was no perfect ticket in the drawing, the jackpot annuity for Tuesday’s drawing has grown to $390 million, which would be worth $265.4 million if claimed as a one-time cash payment.

If won at its current size, the jackpot would tie the fourth-largest in the game’s history. The jackpot has not been this large since March 2014.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing is North Carolinians’ next chance to win a multimillion dollar jackpot. It stands at a $203 million annuity, worth $138.2 million cash.

“We would love to have our seventh jackpot winner for either of these games,” said executive director Alice Garland. “While it’s fun to play for prizes of this size, we always like to remind folks it only takes one ticket to have a chance to win.”

Ticket sales help the lottery raise on average $1.4 million a day for education. To see how lottery funds have made a difference in each of the state’s 100 counties, visit the “For Education” page on the lottery’s website.
