A Powerball ticket someone bought for $2 at the Enmark Station on Tunnel Road in Asheville is worth $1 million.

The ticket beat odds of 1 in 11.7 million in Wednesday’s drawing to match all five white balls drawn, which were 9-11-27-66-67. If the ticket had matched one more number, the Powerball number which was 2, it would have won the jackpot.

Another lucky ticket – purchased at the Fairway One Stop 21 on South Elm Eugene Street in Greensboro – won $50,000 when it matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball.

The winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

Because no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot has grown to a $52 million annuity, worth $36.5 million if claimed as a one-time lump sum, for Saturday’s drawing.

Four North Carolina players have won Powerball jackpots so far.

Ticket sales help the lottery raise on average more than $1.6 million a day for education. To see how lottery funds have made a difference in every county in the state, visit the “For Education” page on the lottery’s website.
