Edward Burleson Jr. of Elkin is celebrating after he won half of a $392,764 Cash 5 jackpot.

Burleson bought the $1 Quick Pick ticket at the Elkin Mart on N.C. 268 West in Elkin. It was one of two to beat odds of one in 749,398 to win Monday’s jackpot.

He claimed the prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. His half of the jackpot is $196,382. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $138,453.

The other winning ticket was sold at the Murphy Express on N.C. 581 N in Goldsboro.
