Bianca Judd of Willow Spring woke up Tuesday morning to discover her Cash 5 ticket won Monday’s jackpot of $110,000.

Judd saw her numbers matched the winning numbers, double-checked the win with her phone’s Education Lottery mobile app, and then woke up her mother to share the good news.

“I just won,” Judd told her mother. “I just won. Look at the ticket. Look at the numbers. All she could say was, ‘Wow’”

The big win came after Judd decided two weeks ago to start playing the Cash 5 game, buying a single ticket every day. On Monday, she cashed in a small win, $1, at the Willow Springs Service Center on N.C. 42 East and used the dollar to buy another ticket for that night’s drawing

“I was excited, very excited,” Judd said Tuesday as she claimed her prize. “I’m still in disbelief.”

After tax withholdings, Judd received $77,825.

“The only plan I have for sure is my church is going to get some money,” Judd said. “I’ve been going there since I was little and I do all I can for it.”

Cash 5 is a statewide draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every single night. Tickets cost $1 and players can buy tickets at most lottery retailers and through Online Play on the lottery’s website. Wednesday’s jackpot is $110,000.

Ticket sales from draw games like Cash 5 make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $650 million a year for education. For details on how $65 million in lottery funds made a difference in Wake County last year, click on the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website.
