Ronald Bost of Harrisburg said he plans to use a $200,000 lottery prize to give his fiancé the complete Elvis experience.

“We’re big Elvis fans,” Bost said. “We’re going to go to Graceland and do the whole Elvis tour. It’s something we’ve always wanted to do. ”

Bost’s good luck happened Saturday morning on his way to the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He stopped at the First Turn Express on Concord Parkway in Concord and bought a Power 5s scratch-off ticket. He put the ticket in his glove compartment and forgot about it until the next morning.

“My fiancé scratched the ticket and started crying when she realized how much we won,” Bost said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

Bost claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $141,501.

The $5 ticket launched earlier this month with five top prizes of $200,000. Three top prizes remain.

Ticket sales from games like Power 5s make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $700 million a year for education. For details on how lottery funds have made a difference in all of North Carolina’s 100 counties, click on the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website.
