Claude Walkup of Charlotte said he would like to treat himself to a new Cadillac after winning the first $200,000 on a new scratch-off game.

“I’ve always loved Cadillacs,” Walkup said. “Now I can get myself a new one.”

Walkup, 62, bought his lucky THE PRICE IS RIGHT™ ticket from Murphy USA on Ashley Road in Charlotte on Sunday.

“I’m still having problems processing it,” Walkup said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.”

Walkup said he went home to catch the last part of the Panthers game and then scratch his ticket.

“I’m still in awe,” he said. “It’s taking a while to sink in.”

Walkup stopped by lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $142,021.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT ™ game debuted this month with four top prizes of $200,000. Three $200,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Players can enter THE PRICE IS RIGHT ™ scratch-offs in Lucke-Rewards for a chance to win a trip for you and a guest to Las Vegas with entry to the COME ON DOWN Challenge, where you may have the opportunity to win up to $50,000,000! Winners will be selected in two separate second-chance drawings during the promotion.
