Michael Mann of Aberdeen took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won Wednesday’s jackpot of $304,456.

He purchased his ticket through Online Play on the lottery’s website and matched the numbers on all five balls.

Mann claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $216,194.

Cash 5 is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets through a retail location or with Online Play using the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night.

Monday’s jackpot is $140,000. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.
