Jeffrey Gazaille of Mooresville tried his luck on a digital instant game on Monday and won a $1.33 million jackpot, the largest digital instant prize in North Carolina lottery history.

Gazaille bought a $10 ticket and won the top level ‘Epic jackpot’ in the Bison Bonanza game. The digital instant game features a progressive jackpot that can be won at any time.

Bison Bonanza is one of four progressive jackpot games offered since the new way to play started in November. The odds of Gazaille’s win were 1 in 3.1 million.

He claimed his prize at lottery headquarters Thursday and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $952,001.

In the Bison Bonanza digital instant game, a player can play from 50 cents to $30. After Gazaille won the jackpot, it restarted at $50,000 and is now over $65,000 as of Friday morning.

Digital instant games are played exclusively online on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Thirty-one different games are available to play online now.
