Thiphavone Soulasinh of Mount Gilead tried her luck on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $229,471 jackpot on Wednesday.

She bought her lucky ticket from Troy Community Mart 2 on Albemarle Road in Troy. The odds of matching numbers on all five balls playing Cash 5 are 1 in 962,598.

Soulasinh arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $164,072.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Tonight’s Cash 5 jackpot stands at $212,000.
