Candy Oliver of Reidsville went to her truck to start scratching a $5 lottery ticket and, after seeing a $100,000 top prize, began to celebrate.

“I started screaming,” she laughed, “until I was out of breath.”

Oliver bought her lucky Money Bag ticket from Gibsonville Shell on N.C 87 North in Gibsonville.

“I like to buy the new scratch-offs when they come out,” she said.

Oliver said she didn’t know how to react when she saw that she won.

“I was overwhelmed,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe it.”

She arrived at lottery headquarters Friday to claim her prize and, after required tax withholdings, took home $71,501.

“I’m just really, really happy,” Oliver said.

The Money Bag game debuted in December with four $100,000 top prizes. Two $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
