Powerball and Mega Millions players in North Carolina will have chances to win big prizes on Monday and Tuesday with jackpots totaling $1.11 billion.

A Powerball winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $460 million jackpot as an annuity or $220.4 million in cash.

A Mega Millions winner on Tuesday would have the choice of taking home the $650 million jackpot as an annuity or $308.6 million in cash.

While North Carolinians keep trying for the jackpot, others big wins occurred over the weekend. Two lucky tickets in North Carolina matched four white balls and the red Powerball in Saturday’s Powerball drawing:

• A $2 ticket, bought at the Food Lion on Wendell Boulevard in Wendell, won $50,000.
• A $2 ticket, bought using Online Play in Mooresville, won $50,000.

One lucky ticket matched four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing:

• A $2 ticket, purchased at the Speedway on N.C. 33 East in Greenville, won $10,000.

“We have seen North Carolinians win some nice prizes recently playing both Powerball and Mega Millions,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We are all hoping to see a jackpot win in North Carolina this week. Good luck.”

Players can buy Mega Millions and Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
