The Mega Millions jackpot keeps climbing the all-time ranks as it now stands at $740 million for Friday night’s drawing.

The jackpot, if won, would represent the seventh largest in Mega Millions history.

A winner in tonight’s drawing would have the choice of taking home the $740 million jackpot as an annuity or $366.3 million in cash.

In Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, a $2 ticket in North Carolina matched four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball to win $10,000. The lucky ticket was bought at the Circle K on Cox Road in Gastonia.

“Mega Millions jackpot runs like this bring not only great wins for players but a great win for education in North Carolina,” said Terri Rose, Chief Brand Officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “The current Mega Millions run has earned over $10 million for education in the state.”
