This Thanksgiving, Powerball players can dream about what kind of feast they could make with a $681 million jackpot.
A winner tonight could claim the jackpot as a $681 million annuity or $315.7 million in cash.
“We would love to see some lucky North Carolinian get an early start to the Thanksgiving holiday with a big jackpot win tonight,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Here at the lottery, we’re grateful that so many North Carolinians enjoy playing lottery games. Every Powerball ticket sold this week will help raise additional dollars for education.”
Monday’s Powerball drawing saw a lucky North Carolinian match four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000. The prize doubled to $100,000 when the 2X multiplier popped up. The winning $3 Power Play ticket came from the Walmart on West Corbett Avenue in Swansboro.
Check out how Powerball impacts North Carolinians:
• 18,198: The total number of winning tickets in Monday’s drawing
• $13 million: The estimated amount raised for education on the current Powerball run
Tonight’s jackpot is the second-largest Powerball prize offered this year, trailing only the $1.7 billion jackpot won Sept. 6 in Missouri and Texas.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
