Powerball players can have fun this weekend trying their luck on an $820 million prize, the eighth largest jackpot in the history of the game.

A winner on Saturday could claim the jackpot as an $820 million annuity or $383.5 million in cash.

Wednesday’s Powerball drawing saw two lucky North Carolinians match four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000:
• One winning ticket was purchased at the Harris Teeter on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro
• The other winning ticket came from Online Play in Huntersville

“We have seen multiple Powerball drawings in a row with players in North Carolina winning $50,000 prizes,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “With nine different ways to win, hopefully we see more great prizes won this weekend.”

Check out how Powerball impacts North Carolinians:

• 28,526: The total number of winning tickets in Wednesday’s drawing
• $15.4 million: The estimated amount raised for education on the current Powerball run

Saturday’s jackpot is the second-largest Powerball prize offered this year, trailing only the $1.7 billion jackpot won Sept. 6 in Missouri and Texas.

Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
