Misty Bridges of Wagram tried her luck on a $5 digital instant on Sunday and won a $780,794 jackpot.
Bridges won the first top level “Alakazam” jackpot in the new Magic Winnings Vegas game. The digital instant game features a progressive jackpot that can be won at any time. The odds of that win were 1 in 12.9 million.
She claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $560,222.
In the Magic Winnings Vegas digital instant game, a player can play from 50 cents to $30. After Bridges won the jackpot, it restarted at $100,000 and has grown to over $146,000 as of Wednesday afternoon.
Digital instant games are played exclusively online on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Forty-three different games are available to play online now.
Scotland County received $1.6 million in money raised by the lottery to help with school renovations. For details on other ways the lottery made a difference for education programs in Scotland County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
