Man Yo of New Bern tried her luck on a $2 digital instant and won a $6,745,117 million jackpot, the biggest digital instant prize in North Carolina lottery history.

Yo won the first top level “Grand Fortune” jackpot in the Monopoly game on April 8. The digital instant game features a progressive jackpot that can be won at any time. The odds of that win were 1 in 25 million.

She claimed her prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $4,839,622.

Yo’s win marks the biggest digital instant win in North Carolina since the games debuted in November of 2023. After her big win, the jackpot reset at $150,000 and has climbed over $868,000 as of Wednesday morning.

Monopoly represents the first multi-state digital instant game offered in both North Carolina and Virginia. That means jackpots will grow higher faster and winners could come from either state.

Digital instant games are played exclusively online on the lottery’s website or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Forty-four different games are available to play online now.

A $15.2 million grant, using money raised by the lottery, will help Craven County build a new middle school. For details on other ways Craven County benefits from lottery funds, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
