Michel Madrigal of Durham took a chance on a $5 scratch-off and won a $250,000 top prize.

Madrigal bought her lucky 20X The Cash ticket from Tommy’s Mini-Mart on South Miami Boulevard in Durham.

She arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to claim her prize and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $179,376.

The 20X The Cash game debuted in February with eight top prizes of $250,000. Five $250,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
