Kyle Clouser of Bolivia does not typically buy lottery tickets, but after receiving some scratch-offs as a gift, he became inspired to try his own luck and got rewarded with a $1 million prize.

“A couple weeks ago I got some tickets for my birthday,” he said. “I never really play the lottery, but after that I decided to try.”

Clouser wanted to go big, so he purchased a $50 scratch-off.

“The juices were flowing so I chose that one,” he laughed.

Clouser bought his lucky $10 Million Spectacular ticket from Han-Dee Hugo's on Southport-Supply Road Southeast in Bolivia.

“At first I assumed it was a $50 win,” he recalled. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw how much it really was. It was wild.”

When Clouser arrived at lottery headquarters Friday, he had a decision to make. He could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump sum of $600,000 and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $430,514.

He plans to use his winnings to take care of his family.

“We have a three-year-old so this will help make things a little easier for us as a family,” Clouser said.

The $10 Million Spectacular game debuted in December 2023 with five top prizes of $10 million, 20 prizes of $1 million and 20 prizes of $100,000. Two $10 million prizes, two $1 million prizes and four $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
