The Powerball jackpot just reached another milestone as it crossed the $600 million mark for Monday’s drawing.

A winner tonight could claim the jackpot as a $605 million annuity or $273.4 million in cash.

While players keep trying for the jackpot, one lucky ticket in North Carolina matched four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 in Saturday’s drawing. The ticket came from Kap's Friendly Shop on Wallburg Landing Drive in Winston-Salem.

“We have seen $50,000 wins in three of the last four Powerball drawings,” said Terri Rose, chief brand officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “That’s why it is important to check your tickets carefully after each drawing since there’s nine different ways to win.”

Check out how North Carolinians win when they play Powerball:

• 34,842: That’s the total number of winning tickets in Saturday’s Powerball drawing
• $11.1 million: That’s the estimate of how much money has been raised for education during the current Powerball run

Powerball has gone 33 straight drawings without a jackpot win. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com.
