Powerball just crossed another milestone as North Carolinians can play for a $700 million prize on Saturday, the largest jackpot in over a year.
A winner could claim the jackpot as a $700 million annuity or $316 million in cash.
“A chance to win a jackpot worth $700 million does not come around every day,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We would love to see a lucky North Carolinian win the big prize on Saturday. Good luck.”
Saturday’s jackpot weighs in as the largest since the April 6, 2024 Powerball drawing when an Oregon man won a $1.3 billion jackpot.
Check out how North Carolinians win when they play Powerball:
• 42,452: That’s the total number of winning tickets in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing
• $12.6 million: That’s the estimate of how much money has been raised for education during the current Powerball run
North Carolina lottery players have another chance to play for a big prize with Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot standing at a $234 million annuity or $105.1 million cash.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or from the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
